Unexpected Messengers: When a Spiritual Nudge Finds You Where You Are

I was recently reminded that messages can come from the most unexpected places. Whether you’re reading someone’s t-shirt in the grocery store; seeing angel numbers on the clock; or having conversations with others, it’s important to remain open to receive what the universe is sending to you.
On this particular day I’d been struggling with my energy levels and was meeting with my dietitian to review my nutrition. To my surprise, the conversation branched out and suddenly we were discussing my Soul Purpose! I explained to her that I know - in my soul - that I am meant to help women on their journey of discernment. I told her about Discerning You, LLC; that I’d created it years ago and hadn’t done anything with it for months.
She was very excited that I already had all of this laid out. We discussed the importance of having a spark for something that is meaningful and brings me joy. She encouraged me to get back into it – putting my story out there for you. Through her excitement and encouragement my spark was reignited. (By my dietitian!)
That experience reminded me that oftentimes we put so much time and energy into creating just the right space with just the right ceremony (for example: I used to think I can only meditate in my healing studio with the door closed when no one else is around); or we focus so much on the details that we forget to listen for the message. I’m not embarrassed to admit that I need reminders from time-to-time of the exact message I share here.
I now remember the struggle I have with my health gets harder the further from my soul purpose that I stray.
So, thank you to my dietitian for bringing me guidance on more than just the food I eat. Thank you for your enthusiastic support. Thank you for reminding me that I’m more than my illness and giving me that push to focus on where I’m meant to be.
(Not surprisingly, I’ve felt great in the days since I’ve re-committed to spreading my message through these blog posts.)
To the rest of you reading this, I encourage you to remain open to receiving the spiritual nudges you’re meant to hear – regardless of their source.
